I’ve have been looking for an app like this for years. It is a clean design, easy to navigate, and well-thought-out. Thank you for helping me keep my book life simple and organized.
Clean, beautiful, helpful. As a book worm, I love this tidy way of keeping track of my reading obsession. The app itself has unusual polish and is a delight to use.
All the others have subscriptions or have too much going on. This is straightforward, simple, yet intuitive and well-organized.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Bookstack has always been free and we intend to keep it that way. There are more than enough ads in your world already — you don’t need them in your book tracker. All we ask in return is to help us spread the word.
No, Bookstack runs in your browser. Just sign in with Google to create your account. Works the same on desktop or mobile. See our Add to Home Screen guide for the steps.
Always. Continuous enhancement is the name of the game. I’m building Bookstack in my free time so progress will not always be drastic, but improvements and new features are always in the works. The backlog is full of big plans. Stay tuned for what’s next.
Unfortunately no. That’s one of the reasons I’ve rebuilt Bookstack as a web application. The developers I paid to build the original iOS version are no longer around and the codebase is stuck in limbo. I have no way to update it. Also, the iOS version stored all of your library data locally so there’s no way to extract it and transfer it. I’ve fixed that issue for good now, though. All of your library data is saved in a database should you ever need it.
Currently not yet, but this feature is on the roadmap and coming soon.
Feedback is the fuel that runs what I do here on Bookstack. I’m always open to hearing your ideas for improvement, where you’re having issues, or just to say hi. Feel free to drop a note via the contact form.
